| Dodged Puddle - Killed By Car.
WOLLONGONG, Sunday. - John Bettson, 27, clerk, of Flinders Street, Port Kembla, was fatally injured on Wollongong Road, Port Kembla, on Saturday night.
He was walking on the left of the road towards Port Kembla when he came to a puddle of water. He jumped sideways across the puddle towards the middle of the road and was struck by a car travelling behind him.
Illawarra Ambulance took him to Wollongong District Hospital. He died this morning.
Bettson was a married man with four children.
