Court Record, Page 91—6 July, 1725: Adms. to Sarah Belding, widow, Jacob Griswold and Josiah Belding. Exhibit of inventory.

Page 140—6 December, 1726: Jacob Griswold and Sarah Belding, Adms., exhibited an account of debts and charges paid, with loss. The account was accepted: The invt, £888-17-03; subtracting £27-07-09, there remains £861-18-00 to be distributed. The Court order to be distributed: To Sarah Belding, widow and relict, £93-13-02 out of the moveable estate, with dower; to John Belding, eldest son, £311-02-06, which is his double portion of the estate, and likewise more the sum of £51-17-01, which is his equal part of a child's portion that dyed since the decease of his father; to Ebenezer Belding and Timothy Belding, the rest of the surviving children, to each of them, £155-11-03, which is their single portion of sd. estate, and likewise more to each of them £51-17-01, which is their equal parts of a child's portion that dyed since their father. And appoint Samuel Wolcott, James Butler and Nathaniel Stilman, of Wethersfield, distributors. This Court do appoint Sarah Belding of Wethersfield to be guardian to her children, viz., Ebenezer Belding, about 7 years, and Timothy Belding, about 3 years of age. Rec, £100."[3]

    John,4 (Belden) (John,3 John,2 Rich.,1), b. 1685: m. (1) Keziah (dau. Sgt. Benj.) Gilbert, 1 May, 1712, who d. 2 Dec, 1712. ae. abt. 21: m. (2) Patience (dau. Esq. Josiah) Rosseter, 22 Mch., 1714-15, who d. 9 Mch., 1715-16, ae. 24: m. (3) Sarah (dau. Jacob) Griswold, 16 Dec, 1718. There was a John B. whose invent, (val. at £851-13-09) was taken 24 June, 1725, and acc to Court Rec. 6 July, 1725; adm. gr. to wid. Mary [per Manwaring, widow was Sarah], and his will mentions John, Ebenezer and Timothy as "sarviving." If, as acc to this doc his wid's name was Mary, he must have m. a fourth time.
