Bought a Revolutionary Soldier's claim on interval land on Androscoggin River with his eldest son. Wife Mary joined him in mid-winter via Pinkham Notch abt 1799, with children including Abigail (to be called widow Jackman), Timothy and Samuel, 8 children altogether. Timothy and Samuel drove oxen to make the path.
