    "Administration on the estate of John Bayley of Killingworth was granted, 27 Nov. 1750, to his eldest son, John Bayley of Killingworth. The inventory states that he died 'on ye seventeenth day of October 1750,' and totaled some £730. There are receipts in the files dated 21 Feb. 1750/1 from James Bayley (so signed) for £235 'Recivd of my Brother John Bayley Adminr on ye Estate of my Honored Father Mr John Bayley,' and from the widow Hannah Bayley for £235, she signing by mark. [Guilford Probate Records, 4:632, 658; and Files.]"
