1. John Peter Bader/John Borders 13 Oct 1760 PA, mc1786 in what is now Bland Co VA, Catherine Sellards c1764 PA, d/ Hezekiah Sellards (see Appalachia Crossroads by Clayton R Cox). They lived in Tazewell Co VA until 1802 when the family started to move to the Scioto River Valley in Ohio. Enroute, John became ill and settled in Johnson Co KY where he died. John was captured with the British at the Battle of Yorktown in 1781 (and was in error thought to be a Hessian soldier by many of his descendants, but he was in American units which fought on the British side. His brother Peter Borders 1767 PA was an American guard at John's POW camp and probably aided in his early escape from the camp---he was reported dead five days after the battle by British records---which explained his absence from the American camp).
