John Ansted May 19, 1919 -- Sept. 21, 2004
------ John J. Ansted, 85, of Elmore died Tuesday at home. He was born in Elmore to the now-deceased Elam and Bertha (Ernsthausen) An sted and graduated from Harris-Elmore High School in 1937. On Oct. 10, 194 2, he married Alice Mauch and she preceded him on Jan. 22, 1984. John was a lifelong farmer of vegetable crops in the Elmore area, retiri ng in 1983. Those that knew John will remember him for being a clean, honest, positi ve role model toward his family and friends. He was a member of St. Paul T rinity United Methodist Church, Elmore, and more than 60 years ago was a f ounding member of Lin-Mor Farm Council, and loved to host meetings at h is home. Survivors include sons, Wm J. (Barbara) Ansted, Lindsey, and Rog er C. (Terri) Ansted, Richmond, Texas; daughter, Carolyn J. (Kenneth) Nee b, Elmore; sister, Florence Bach, Elmore; grandchildren, Brian and Bart Ne eb, Sheila Rothert, Allison, Andrew, Christina, and John Ansted, and great -grandchildren, Carly and Claire Rothert. He is preceded by his parents, w ife Alice, and brother, Kenneth Ansted. Visitation: 2 to 9 p.m. today with the family present from 2 to 4 a nd 6 to 9 p.m. at Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Trinity United Methodist Church wi th the Revs. Doug Moyer and Kathleen Kisner officiating. Burial: Union Cemetery, Elmore.
