From "and they came to Mara...", p. 8: "John Acton and his wife, Ann "Annie" Fair were born in Ireland. They we re married in the Township of Brock, on February 8, 1852 by the Reverend R ichard Garrett. Rev. Garrett's record of this marriage included the infor mation that Joh was a widower when he married Ann.

During the following years, John and Ann lived in Brock, Reach, and Sco tt Townships. John and Ann lived in Rama Township in 1858 and by 1871, t he ACTONS were living in South Mara.

By 1881 the John Acton family had removed from Mara..."
