He and his brother Martin went to Franklin Co., PA in 1785. Married Elizabeth Bechtel, 1765.5.3 1831.8.29. The two brothers received a patent for the farm of 461 acres called Farmer's Delight in Guilford Twp., Franklin Co., PA John's portion passed on to his sons John and Jacob. The land is near a spring called Elk Hollow where many Indian relics have been found. CW did extensive research on John's family. DLW Buried New Guilford Cem. Died 1829.7.3 (67-5-9) Dates from a cem. listing in Franklin Co. Hist. Soc. DLW attempted to read the stone at night (Aug. 1998) by flashlight and was not able to discern the dates. If the cem. listing is correct then John is the fourth child of G14 and the son of Chefram. |
