1675, Germany Death: 1753 Berks County Pennsylvania, USA No tombstone has been located and it possible he could be buried elsewhere Johannes (John) Keim was born about 1675 in Landau Speyer Bavarian Palatinate, Germany. He was the son of Johannes Keim. Johannes and Bertha (Deturk) Keim immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1707. They moved into the wilderness on Manatawny Creek in Oley township. According to family traditions, Johannes had found this spot on an earlier prospecting trip. here they built a log cabin, cleared some land and planted their first seeds. His tract of land was warranted in 1720. Johannes and Bertha had six children before Bertha died in about 1726. She may be buried on the Schneider/Gheer farm in Oley, Berks County, Pa Johannes married (2) Maria Elizabeth Boller in January, 1731. She was born about 1713 in Berks County. Johannes and Maria had ten children who were all born in Oley township. Johannes died in 1753 in Oley, he may be buried at the Schneider/Gheer farm cemetery, Limekiln, Oley, Pa. His will was proven in 1754. In his will he mentions his first six children by name, but only says "his 10 children with his second wife" and does not name them. Maria died the 2nd of June, 1772 in Oley, Pa Contributor Alice mentions that his birthplace Spyer used to be spelled Spier which is in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
