Born 15 October 1857 and died July 1946. He farmed on HAMBURG in Boshof district and on SLYPKLIP near Windserton. Later,in 1899, he moved to Soutpan, in Brandfort district, where he produced salt. Both him and his wife is buried in Soutpan, him in he Old Cemetery and his wife on the edge of the salt pan. Him and all three of his sons fought in the Anglo Boer War.
