Obituary from the Ellenville [N.Y.] Journal, dated May 28, 1886

"Napanoch--Mrs. Hannah H. Irwin died at the home of her son in this village, where she had long resided, on Sunday morning last, aged a little more than 82 years. Mrs. Irwin had been an invalid and bedridden for forty-six years. In all that time she had no use of her lower limbs, save during two summers. This aged lady was indeed a "mother in Israel;" she had been for many years a member of the Methodist church, and was remarkably versed in the Scriptures, which she could quote accurately by the chapter. Mrs. Irwin leaves four sons--Cornelius, with whom she resided; Daniel, living in New Jersey; Peter, of Ridgway, Pennsylvania; and John, living in Lackawack. The funeral was on Tuesday; interment at Lackawack."
