   WEDEL JOHANN SIMON (S). – Erfurt. Son of Heinrich Christoffel W. and Barbara Elisabeth Völker. Arr. 1757 as so., clerk in the timber-store 1763-75, clerk in the artisans’ quarter 1776-79, b. 1780. W. kept a school where he gave special lessons in French and other subjects to children who had already had instruction in the elementary subjects. ~ 20.5.1764 Anna Maria Knoop, d. of Johann Knoop (q.v.).
