Johann Peter, their oldest son and his wife Susanna, settled near Deavertown in the northwest part of Morgan County, Ohio. Apparently Peter had adopted the plantation mode of life since he called his homestead that in his will of 1821. To help him with his plantation, Peter had a bonded servant to whom he provided land in his will. All eleven of Johann Peter and Susanna's children had been born in Virginia but six of them had died young. Their other children John, John Peter, Elizabeth, John Michael, John Carl Charles, and Margaret-settled in Ohio, married and raised families.
