Tax and Census list for Pine Grove Twp., then Berks Co. PA (now Schuylkill Co.) - Blue Mountains on Swatara - 1754 - Nicholas Long, Collector George Rith.

In his will, written Oct. 5, 1787 he names Anna Margaretha as his wife. Many believe he inherited and carried on the miller's business after his father's death but that is doubted because there are records that seem to show that in 1748 he resided in Pine Grove Twp., Schuylkill Co. for a time. His sons, Leonhard and Johannes later were listed as owners of land there that the father had evidently owned. From George descended many of the Reeds in and around Stouchsburg and also the Minnichs of Virginia. His will was probated July 16, 1791. It is recorded in Berks Co. Will Book A pg. 207

He served in the Revolutionary War.
