LOUGHNER, George of Penn d 9-7-1885 age 73 years. PA ARGUS (9-16-1885)
PENN BOROUGH. This town is most eligibly located on the Pennsylvania Railroad, some six miles from Greensburg. It was laid out in 1859 by J. H. Oliver, on the south of the railroad, and by the Penn Gas-Coal Company shortly after on the north of the railroad. George Loughner and J. F. Landis were here before the place was laid out, and are the persons who have resided here the longest time. The former was a coalminer, and is now a very aged man. George Loughner was born August 19, 1812 in Hempfield Twp. Wmrld Cnty, Pa. and died September 7, 1885. He married Christina Rose Augusr 1, 1833 by Rev. John Shrum.
