The "Beausite" of the Johann Cesar Godeffroy line was a ship of burden of 466 C.L. (1 C.L. = 2 English tons) and dimensions of 192' 3" by 36' 5" (given in Hamburg feet). She was built in 1854 in New York and as the Hamburg ship" Nuremberg" was bought by Godeffroy on 4 April 1863 and renamed "Beausite". (Newspaper report in the Brisbane Courier, August 21, 1866)
