The information I have comes from another relative, and I have not yet checked the original sources. Sources listed include Eveland family bibles, will of David Eveland, immigrant, New Jersey Archives, and personal correspondence to various offices and persons in Europe. Some of the information differs slightly from yours, but here is a summary of what I have. Any additions/corrections would be greatly appreciated.

Johann David Iffland (David Eveland), b. ca 1690, d. 1761, Hunterdon Co., NJ. He, his wife (Anna Maria) and one child embarked at Rotterdam, Holland during the period July 3 to 10, 1709 and on July 15, 1709 they sailed for London in the 5th sailing of Palantines. Just after Christmas 1709 they embarked on one of a group of 10 ships to go to America. The departure was delayed, and finally they sailed in a convoy on Apr. 10, 1710 from Portsmouth. The first ship arrived in NY on June 13, 1710 and the last one on August 2, 1710. The Iffland family arrived at least as early as June 28, 1710 since "Johann David Ifflandt" was charged for 4 days subsistence on July 1, 1710. They arrived at Livingston Manor on the Hudson river about Jan. 4, 1711, and moved to West Amwell Township, Hunterdon County, NJ during the period 1716-1722.

David Eveland executed his will on May 28, 1753 and signed his name "David Iffland" in German script, while he is called "David Eveland" in the body of the will. He names his seven surviving childrn in his will. He does not name a son "David." My information shows that the son born 1718 is named Peter. Perhaps these are one and the same, or perhaps David the son died before the will was executed. He lists the sons as: John, eldest; Peter, second, and Frederick, third. The daughters are: Margreta, eldest; Magdelane, second; Catherine, third; and Mary, youngest.

Here is the information on the children, from the will and birth dates in family bibles as well as other sources:

1. Margreta, b. 1709 or before, prob Germany (although there were two other possible children, one of whom could have been Magreta).

2. ________, b. ca Oct. 1710 in New York. Presumably died young.

3. ________, b. ca Apr. 27, 1712 in New York. Presumably died young.

4. John, b. 1716, probably in New York. He died ca Oct. 1765, intestate and "late of Newton in the County of Sussex." It appears that he did not marry.

5. Peter, born 1718, in New York or New Jersey. He moved to North Carolina where he was one of the early settlers in Orange County. He married Catharine _____ and had, probably among other children, two sons, David and John, who served in the Revolutionary War. One of his descendants was William Gibbs McAdee, U.S. Senator and then Secretary of the Treasury under Woodrow Wilson. I have a transcript of John's declarations in his pension file.

6. Frederick, b. 1720, probably in New Jersey.

7. Magdalene, b. 1722, Amwell Twp., Hunterdon Co., NJ

8. Catherine, b. 1724, Amwell Twp.

9. Mary, born aft 1724, Amwell Twp.
