  1. ID: I06792
  2. Name: Joh. Ulrich WIRTH
  3. Sex: M
  1. Note:
Came with his wife and first five (i.e., German-Born) children from Lixheim to America on the
ship "Two Brothers" in 1748. In addition to the passenger list, this is also confirmed by a
mention of Ulrich's emigration in the inventory of Daniel Stutzmann, the husband of Ulrich's
   sister Barbara.
Appears on the 1762 tax list of Whitehall Township as "Ulrich Wuerth" Also rendered as
   "Ullerich."
Baptism is listed in Diedendorf Reformed KB.
Christing Sponsors: Johannes Scheuerer (matenal grandfather) from Weyer; Johannes
Teusch, shoemaker; Anna Elisabetha, daughter of Jacob Hegle, both of Wolffskirchen,
The old Lehigh County property map lists Ulrich's property in North Whitehall Township
lying between "Levan's Junction (now Trexler packing house) and Jordan Creek, with most
of the land now a part of the Trexler orchards - perhaps a small part also withing the Trexler-
   Lehigh County game perserve."
From "Miscellaneous Family Histories and Burial Records" by Raymond Hollenbach, found at the Lehigh County Historical Society. This property was closest to Unionville, but that
church was not founded until 1765. It is therefore possible that they first belonged to
Heidelberg (if any church at all), but the early records of that church are missing.
   All sons in this family appear on the rosters of Northampton County militia companies;
several were on active duty during the Revolutionaly War. From "Eighteenth Century
Emigrants from the Northern Alsace to America., By Annette Kunselman Burgert.
Many of the children in the Wirth/Wertz/Werts/Wirt/Wert in the early years were baptised at the Schlosser's Reformed Church in North Whitehall Township, also know as Union Church in Unionville, and later known as Neff's Union Church in Neffs.
