Hepastored churches in West Florida until 1955, when he went towork as the prison chaplain with the Florida Dept. ofCorrections until his retirement in 1980. He was the son of thelate John E. and LaNita Sessions Kiser and the widower of thelate Vera Mae Ogle Kiser. He attended Carson Newman College andCampbellsville College in Tennessee, was a member of theEastside Baptist Church of Lake City, a member of the MasonicLodge and the Eastern Star of Lake City. Survivors include hisdaughter, LaNita K (Bobby) Bishop of Lake City; threegrandchildren, Phil (Debbie) Bishop and Natalie (Scott) Wardboth of Lake City, and Greg (Kathy) Bishop of Orlando, FL; fivegreat-grandchildren, Megan Bishop, Michael Bishop, Matt Bishop,Tabitha Bishop and A.J.
