Identity

He doesn't appear to be the same person as Joachim Dumstrey, the husband of Engel Bohlmann, because it appears that the wife of this Joachim, Engel Gädken, was a widow when she married again in 1814. A close inspection of the records by someone familiar with the handwriting style of the time might confirm or correct this.

It is tempting to identify him with the Joachim Dumstreÿ who was confirmed in Cammin in 1803 at the age of 16 (which would clearly distinguish him from the Joachim Friedrich Dumstreÿ who was confirmed in Cammin the same year at the age of 12). However, the 16-year-old confirmand was of Grabow, while Engel Gädken's husband was of Gristow. It is possible, of course, that he moved between 1803 and 1811.
