An Engagement announcement was published in the New York Times newspaper, dated 6 January 1935. It reads:

“SEAVER—RICE The engagement of Miss Jinnet Cushing Seaver, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edwin P. Seaver Jr. of New Bedford, Mass., to John C. Rice, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Rice, of Dedham, Mass., has been announced. Miss Seaver was a debutante of the 1929-1930 season. She was graduated from Smith College last June and is a member of the Junior League of Boston. Mr. Rice, a nephew of Dr. and Mrs. Alexander Hamilton Rice of New York, was graduated in 1933 from Harvard, where he was a member of the Hasty Pudding Club, Institute of 1770, DKE and the Owl Club.”

A Death notice was published in the New York Times newspaper, dated 10 July 1937. It reads:

“Deaths RICE—In New Bedford, July 9, Jinnet S., wife of John Clark Rice Jr. and daughter of Dr. Edwin P. Seaver and Jinnet Kielland Seaver. Funeral private.”
