BURLINGTON — Mrs.. Jessie O. Graves, 74, of 420 Alamance Road, died at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2000, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham after a sudden illness.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. Ben W. Graves, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. William Lawrence Overman and Mrs.. Donnie Page Councilman Overman, both deceased. She was a retired sales manager with Stanley Home Products and a lifelong member of Alamance Lutheran Church.

Survivors other than her husband of the home include two sons, Mr. Danny Lee Graves of Burlington and Mr. William Mark Graves of Harrisburg; a sister, Mrs.. Betty Brothers of Burlington; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs.. Kathleen Brown. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Alamance Lutheran Church by the Rev. Charles Hoyle. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park, Burlington, Alamance County, North Carolina.

The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening and at other times at the home.
