Jesse lived in Preble Co., Ohio; Wayne Co., Indiana; Fulton Co., Illinois; and Newton Co., Missouri. Jesse split logs and chopped wood with Abe Lincoln in the bottoms in Illinois. He then moved on to Missouri, supposedly he was enroute to the gold fields of California but never made it. One time knocked a lawyer across court room, with fist, when called a liar.
