    Jess Delbert Lawler died Apr 8, 1954, aged 66y0m11da at Brooke Army Hospital on Ft.Sam Houston Army Base in San Antonio, TX. His home for last 5yrs had been at 2930 Mission Rd in San Antonio. He was born Mar 27, 1888 in OK son of Levi Hl Lawler, b.AL & Mary Josephine Mabry, b.Unkn. He was Retired. Death was due to accident. His clothing caught fire, ignited by smoking in bed, and resulted in 3rd degree burns over his upper torso. The accident happened at home on March 4th. He was hospitalized for 35 days before he died. Buried in Florence, TX (Lawler Cemetery). He had never been in military. NOTE: Brook Army hospital is a burn hospital.
