JESSE HARDISON WILL State of North Carolina County of Onslow County Will Book 1

In the name of God amen. I Jesse Hardison of sd. County being weak of body, but of perfect mind & memory blessed by Almighty God for the same and considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner & form following that is to say first, give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Rebecah Hardison my (illegible) house I now live in with one third of the plantation also my sheep during her natural life. After her death to be returned to my son Samuel my land. I give and bequeath to my two beloved sons Elzy S Hardison & (illegible) Hardison to be divided by the division (?) line which I have made & also give and bequeath to my son Elzey one feather bed & twenty dollars in money. I also give and bequeath to my daughter Aley Taylor married woman two hundred and fifty dollars to her & her lawful begotten heirs of her body forever. I also give and bequeath to my beloved wife Rebecah all my household & kitchen furniture & beds and furniture during her natural life afterwards to be given as before mentioned to my son Samuel. If either of my sons should die without a lawful begotten heir of their body the land shall then return to the surviving brother or his heirs. I also leave my son Elzey S Hardison to act as an Executor to my last will to settle the business. I hereby publish this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the 2nd day of Jany in the year of our lord 1826 (signed) Jesse Hardison

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Jesse Hardison sure (?) to be his last will and testament in presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in presence of the testators N. Taylor, Thomas W. Hill.

Elzey Hardison qualified Onslow County The (illegible) court of Pleas & Quarter sessions Nov. Term 1827. This will was duly proved by the oaths of N. Taylor and Thomas W. Hill & Elzey Hardison qualified thereto as Executor. Danl Ambrose, clk
