He was a carpenter in 1900, 1910, 1920 Obituary JERRY WIARDA DIES AT CONVALESCENT HOME Jerry R. Wiarda, 80, a resident of Coopersville for nearly 45 years, died Saturday evening at Glenwood Convalescent home in Lamont. He had been there since the death of his wife, the former Fannie Laug, last April 12. Mr. Wiarda was born in the Netherlands, July 28, 1874, and settle in Grand Rapids in 1890, coming to Coopersville in 1910. He was a carpenter by trade and for years he manufactured boxes, crates, stepladders and other articles at his home. Mr. Wiarda was a member of the Coopersville Reformed church, its Adult Bible Class and was active in the church until ill health curtailed his activities. He leaves nieces and nephews in Grand Rapids and the Netherlands. Funeral services took place at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Throop Funeral Home with Rev. Peter Muyskens officiating.
