Clarke Co. GA - Obits from the Athens Daily News/Banner-Herald 13 Sep 1996 Jerry B. Tullis Sr. Athens Jerry Bolton Tullis Sr., 80, of 695 Whit Davis Road died Sunday, Sept. 8, 1996. A native of Americus, Mr. Tullis was a son of the late E.W. and Ruth Chambliss. He retired from Southern Bell after 33 years and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lane Tullis. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home Chapel East with the Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Survivors include a son, Jerry B. Tullis Jr., Athens; five sisters, Penny McCroan and Mildred Stephens, both of Atlanta, Susan Oakes, Alexander City, Ala., Ruth Morrison, Columbus, and Mary T. Rhines, California; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
