Mae Ryland Crumrine, 84, of Crosby, Texas, formerly of Bentleyville, died at 12:20 p.m. Monday, May 22, 1989, in San Jacinto Methodist Hospital, Baytown, Texas.
Born March 19, 1905, in Bentleyville, she was a daughter of Jennie Lange Ryland and Fred Ryland Sr.
Mrs. Crumrine lived the majority of her life in Bentleyville, and for the past several years she made her home with her nephew, Charles H. Ryland Jr. of Crosby.
She was a 1923 graduate of Bentleyville High School and a graduate of California State Teachers College, now know as California University of Pennsylvania.
She retired in 1968 as an elementary school teacher, having taught second grade for 44 years in the Bentleyville School district.
Mrs. Crumrine was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bentleyville, where she taught Sunday school for 35 years.
She was a member of the Pioneer Club of Bentleyville and the Monongahela Valley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Her husband, Thomas Elliott Crumrine, died October 4, 1960.
Surviving are two brothers, Fred W. Ryland of Daisytown R.D.1 and Charles H. Ryland of Weirton, W. Va.; one nephew; three nieces; two great-nephews; one great-niece; and one great-great-nephew.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, is one sister, Naomi Ries, who died August 24, 1983.
