Became Ill Sunday With Heart Attack - Funeral Will Be Held Tomorrow
Mrs. Jennie Manning Kearney, 77 years of age, wife of Alfred A. Kearney and a well known and respected resident of Morrill for many years, passed away yesterday morning about 5 o'clock at the Methodist hospital after a short illness. Mrs. Kearney died of heart trouble. She became ill Sunday while returning from a Christmas activity and became progressively worse. She was brought to the Methodist hospital at 8 o'clock Tuesday evening and passed away the following morning. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 1:30 from the Methodist church in Morrill. Interment will be in Morrill Cemetery.
She was born in Dublin, Indiana, September 21, 1855. She was united in marriage to Alfred A. Kearney at Jefferson, Iowa, October 5, 1883, some time later moving to Stanton, Neb., and in 1909 to Morrill, where she resided until her death. She was a member of the Methodist church.
Surviving are her husband, her two sons; Charles M., and Orlando H. Kearny, all of Morrill; a sister, Mrs. Carl Rasch, of Helen, Mont., and a brother, George B. Manning, of Hutchinson, Ks.
Mrs. Kearney's passing was peaceful. At her side, clasping her hand, was her husband, to whom she had been married for 49 years and with whom she had planned to observe their golden wedding anniversary in 1933. Holding the esteem and love of all who knew her, her bereaved ones have the sympathy of many friends in the valley.
