Obituary Mrs. Jennie Duncan, wife of Carey E. Duncan, died at her home in Minerva, OH at 9:30 o'clock Sunday morning, after an illness of several months of cancer. The remains were brought to Waterloo arriving here early Monday morning, and were taken to the home of Mr. Duncan's brother, John Duncan, on North Wayne Street, from which place the funeral service was held at two o'clock yesterday afternoon. Rev A. P. Bourns, of the Auburn Presbyternian church, officiating. Interment in the Waterloo cemetery. Mrs. Duncan had been ill a long time, and the last that she had been away from her home was on last Christmas day when they were entertained at the home of friends. She was taken bedfast twelve weeks before her death, and was a patient sufferer untilthe last. Jennie Campbell, daughter of John and Cornelia Campbell, was born in Smithfield township, Oct 17, 1860 and died at Minerva, Ohio, March 19, 1922 ages 61 years, 5 months and 2 days. Sje lived with her parents in Smithfield township, DeKalb county, until her marriage to Lee F. Stamets on Dec 25, 1892, at which time she and her husband came to Waterloo to reside. To this union was born one daughter, Gleyne, who died July 19, 1919. THe husband preceded in death in November, 1900. Mrs. Stamets was again married on Dec 31, 1918 to Cary E. Duncn, who survives, with two brothers, Charles of Smithfield township, and Scott of Montpelier, Ohio and one sister, Mrs. George Parnell, of Huntdale, NC. Mrs. Duncan was a member of Waterloo chapter, O. E. S. During her residence in Waterloo she was a kind neighbor, and had many friends, who will remember her good qualities. Mrs. Duncan was a member of the Presbyterian church at Minerva, Ohio. |
