Per abstracts of Rev. War Pension Files Jehiel was from CT; appl 16 Apr 1818 in Ontario Co NY a res of Lyons, NY, in 1820 sol was aged 70 with a wife aged 73 (her name appeared to be Sarah ?) The parenthesis are from the book, not my notes. From my notes from SLC I must have looked in the records of White's Index to Revolutionary War Service Records because I wrote the following and it was attached to the Franklin page of the index; Jehiel Franklin of Lyons state of NY private in regiment commanded by Col. Webb of the Connecticut line for the term of 3 years. Inscribed on the Roll of New York at the rate of 8 dollars per month to commence on 16 of April 1818. Ontario Co. Henry Hyde swears to be acquainted with Jehiel Franklin and knows him to be destitute and unable to labor. Also looked like Ezra Lewell or Jewell said same. No info. relative to family members. Index indicated he served in the 2nd CT regt. I wrote to the office of the Adjutant General of CT for records pertaining to Jonathan and Jehiel. They found nothing for Jonathan but there were 2 listings for Jehiel that didn't really tell me anything except that he was a revolutionary pensioner and had been a private. That info. was from a listing of Revolutionary Pensioners. The other was from Secong Regiment , "Connecticut Line" formation of 1777-1781 and it showed he was company Granger, enlisted on May 30, 1777 for term of 3 years and was discharged May 30, 1780. |
