Jeanne Clare Hartman

Jeanne C. Hartman, age 74, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2005, in Tyler, Texas. Jeanne was born December 12, 1930, in Toledo to Sylvester and Helene (Schlupp) Valade. She went to Sherman Elementary School and graduated from Woodward High School in 1947 before attending classes at the University of Toledo. In 1951, Jeanne married James M. Hartman and together they raised three sons and a daughter. In Toledo, Jeanne worked both in banking and for a credit union. In 1968 the family moved to Galesburg, Illinois, where they were members of First United Methodist Church continuing their membership after moving to Tyler, Texas, in 1980. Jeanne is survived by her husband, James M.; sons, Mark (Sherri) of Galesburg, IL, Scott, of Perris, CA, and Eric (Susan) of Sidney, IL; daughter, Sandra (Karl) Neumann of Clinton, CT; ten grandchildren and two grandchildren-in-law, Neal and Kanae, Stephen, Andrew, Nicholas, Lindsey, Dylan and Adam Hartman, Kiefer and Kyle Neumann, and Carolin and Martin Schneider; four great-grandchildren, Kai, Riku Hartman, and Annabella and Martin Schneider; brother, William Valade of Niles, MI; sisters-in-law, Janet Valade of Toledo, OH, and Joyce (David) Richards of Cape Coral, FL; nieces and nephews, Kevin Valade, Bruce (Sharon) Valade, John (Deanna) Valade, David (Teri) Richards, Carole Copenhaver, Susan (Norman) Cairl, Pamela (Paul) Sanflippo, Janice Gruver, and Jane (Robert) Blake. Jeanne was preceded in death by her father in 1980, her mother in 1972, and a younger brother, Daniel, in 1983. Her nephew, Stephen Valade, also preceded her in death in 1984. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave., where services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.with the Rev. Julian Davies officiating. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan B. Komen Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.
