JEAN H GETTY - LONACONING - Jean H. Getty, 74, of East Main Street, Lonaconing, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at Country House Residence, Cumberland, were she was lovingly cared for since Aug. 2000. Born Nov. 2, 1927, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Ellsworth Gardner and Dollie Mae (Wilt) Gardner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John O. Jack Getty, April 30, 1995. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Getty was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing. Surviving are one daughter, Reba Getty Niland and husband James, LaVale; one son, John G. Getty and wife Terry, Lonaconing; six grandchildren, Raymond Jackson, Brian Jackson, Abbey Niland, Jenny Niland, Marney Niland, and Annie Getty. At Mrs. Gettys request, her body was cremated. Memorial service will be held at the church at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Mortimore officiating. Inurnment will be held in the Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg.
