White's historical note: 2 Dec 1705: Expropriation d'un emplacement, "joignant du côté du vieuxfort: et appartenant à Jean Blanchard, pour l'extension du fort dePort-Royal (ANF, Col, C11D, vol V, fol 157). Comme Jean Blanchardétait décédé depuis au-delà de douze ans, il faut supposer que seshéritiers étaient les propriétaires de cette terre en 1705.

May be the BLANCHARD recorded by Bona Arsenault in "History of theAcadians" as having come from La Rochelle, France, in 1636 on the "Saint-Jehan",thefirst ship to bring French families to Acadia.

   Jean BLANCHARD came from France with his wife, according to Jean LeBlanc, husband of his great-granddaughter Françoise BLANCHARD. However, his name is mistakenly given as Guillaume, with a wife Huguette POIRIER [sic].
