Jean Baptiste Rouffard dit Lefebvre, farmer, living in Lapraire de LaMagdeleine Parish, widow of the late Adelaide Poissant came & humbly presented himself stating to your Honours: that from his marriage with the deceased there were 3 children born, still minors, namely Casimar 7 yrs. Victorine (sic) 3 yrs & Zenophile 1 year. Your petitioner wants to proceed with an inventory of property that existed between him & his late wife & requests that steps be taken to apoint a tutor & sub tutor (for the said Minors) so he can proceed with the inventory. Assembled to appoint a tutor were Narcisse Poissant, maternal uncle of the minors, Joseph Mousette, Charles Denaut, Antoine Ste. Marie, farmers, Medard Laurenceau, labourer, Antoinette Mousette, (aubergiste) all of Lapriarie, and Joseph Remillard, farmer, of St Cyprien friends of the minor children.
