Syracuse Herald-Journal, 5 Nov 1945: NORTH BAY MAN DEAD North Bay-- Jay J. Becker, 61, for 30 years a tower signalman for the New York Central Railroad, who moved to North Bay only six months ago from Syracuse, died here Sunday. He was born in Phoenix, Oswego County, April 6, 1884, a son of Charles and Elizabeth Otts Becker. Surviving are his wife, the former Jennie Collins; one son, Louis J. Becker, Clay; two brothers, Arthur and Avery Becker, both of Syracuse; two sisters, Mrs. Lula Noonan of Rochester and Mrs. Ella Mae Edwards of Burlington Junction MO; two grandchildren... The Rev. Alexander Houghton of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Syracuse, and the Rev. Herbert M. Kincaid of North Bay Methodist Church, will officiate at services in the Locke Funeral Home here... Wednesday. Burial will be in Dewitt Cemetery.
