Am looking for info regarding Amaza Henderson Lewis. Am trying to find out if she had a daughter by the name of Martha Henderson who married Jasper Tabor of Olive Hill Ky. Jasper was my Great Grandfather. His daughter Ethel was my grandmother. Am not sure Martha was the correct name of my great grandmother. My father has always told us that his grandmother was a Cherokee Indian and her last name was Henderson; however, Mom said it was his great grandmother who was the Henderson and was a Cherokee. Can anyone help me find the facts about this. I'm curious about Amaza because she fits the criteria, because she is an Indian and she was a Henderson. My Uncle Cotton had a picture of my Indian GGrandmother, but she was an old lady by then. Does anyone have any info on Amaza or the Tabors of Olive Hill, KY?

Thank you.

Sue Messer Bryant

To go one step farther. It was Martha's brother Robert Jasper Henderson Jr. who married Elizabeth Bear who was an Indian.

Does this picture look anything like the one you have. This is Elizabeth Phoeba Bear. If memory serves me right Amaza was a nick name or a middle name of one of the girls and I am going to have to do some digging to figure it out. The cob webs are a flying.

Hey Darrell,

The one we have is of an older Indian Lady--probably in her late 60's or early 70's with a hat on. She looks like she could walk thru you. Am going home to Ky on Wednesday and will be copying a lot of these. Hopefully will be able to copy her picture and send to you next week. My cousin Sharon Sue has it and she is flying in from Texas. Good luck on your search. It's driving me nuts that no one seems to know her name. Dad used to know but has forgotten. Have a good Thanksgiving.

Sue
