Jasper Ross Obituary
Ross, Jasper E. son of Lula and Edward Ross was born in the state of Alabama on April 7, 1914 but was reared in Chicago, Illinois. He was a graduated of Howard University. Jasper departed this life May 2, 2006 at Lincoln Park Hospital. A World War II veteran, a member of the 366th Infantry Army Intelligence Unit where 100 out of 110 officers held college degrees. They were regarded as the smartest regiment in the world. Mr. Ross was a first Lieutenant when he volunteered for an elite all black parachute infantry unit known as the Triple Nickel "(555)". He retired from the United States Army as a Major. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at 11 a.m. Wallace Broadview Funeral Home, 2020 Roosevelt Rd., Broadview, IL, 60155, 708-344-1288 Vernon L. Wallace, Funeral Director. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL immediately following service.
