Goodwin's Pioneer History of Cortland and two later publications based upon the first incorrectly give his date of death suggesting that he died as an infant. Corrective information is contained in a supplemental paper filed with the Daughters of the American Revolution under member 841968. He was married to Roxanna Crittenden d/o Ebenezer Crittenden by his first wife Anna Ingersoll.
