Surrounded by family at Woodstock General Hospital, on Tuesday, May 10th, 2005, Jans “John” HAANDRIKMAN of Woodstock in his 83rd year. Husband of the late Geesje “Grace” (née (MARISSEN1990.)) Dear father of Alice and her husband Albert FLEURKENS of Sweaburg, Elsina REDDEN of Elmwood, Marianne HAANDRIKMAN of Woodstock, John HAANDRIKMAN of Windsor, and Diana and her husband Christopher HOOPER of Sweaburg. Dear grandfather (Opa) of David FLEURKENS, Michael FLEURKENS and his wife Jessica; Barbara, Lee-Ann and Andrew REDDEN; Andrea MUI; Simon, Sydney and Spencer HOOPER. Survived by his sister Trientje KIERS- HAANDRIKMAN of the Netherlands, and predeceased by his brothers Geert, Hendrik and Jan of the Netherlands and his sister-in-law Ina HEIMBECKER of Canada. Also beloved brother-in-law of John and Grace MARISSEN, Harry and Janna MASSEN, and Ron HEIMBECKER, all of Canada, and Roel and Bep MARISSEN, Maris and Nolda MARISSEN, Toos and the late Jans MARISSEN, Elsje, Dinie and Jantje HAANDRIKMAN, all of the Netherlands. Jans and his wife and children came to Canada in 1969. An accomplished baker, he won several awards for his baking. He loved going for walks with his family, enjoyed nature and was an avid birdwatcher, gardener and amateur inventor. Friends will be received at the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock on Thursday, 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Friday, May 13, 2005 at 1: 00 p.m. with Reverend Keith SUTHERLAND officiating. Cremation to follow.
