Janis A. Smith, 63, of Indianapolis, passed away on May 15, 2015. She was born on April 14, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Lloyd and Mildred Abel Laughner. She was a graduate of Warren High School and was employed with the Corporate Offices of Laughner Cafeterias for many years. Throughout her life she enjoyed riding horses and taking care of her animals. Survivors include her son, Brian Smith, 2 sisters, Patty (Gordon) Goss and Sharon Laughner. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN. Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, May 21,2015 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
