Bio: On the sad early morning of November 14, 2013, Janice Miesse aka "Mammaw Jan" aka "Momma" aka "Woman" was ripped from the presence of her family leaving 20 grandchildren, 7 children - Rickey Jr., Heidi, Jill, Mark, Wendy, Samuel, and Suzy, her devoted husband Rickey who was affectionately known to her as "Senior," and countless friends and family members in a wake of overwhelming distress. She made the best grilled cheese, sweet tea, and chocolate chip cookies in the world. She could beat anyone at ping-pong regardless of their age, was a formidable opponent in passionate games of Boggle, and was known to join in for family soccer and ultimate frisbee. She compassionately loved people, especially children, and spent much time in her life teaching Sunday school and loving her family. She was creative and beautiful and generous and crazy and fun and we cannot express the depths of our sadness; however, as we know she loved God and she accepted His gift of grace, we know we will meet her again for a heavenly family reunion. She has already reunited with her daughter, Molly Jan, who preceded her in death and they are waiting to see us, just as we are waiting to see them, again. This, and the earthly comfort of the many who loved her, is our solace in this time of deep loss and will sustain us until we meet her again. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 2-5p.m. at JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS LIFE CELEBRATION CENTER, Springfield, where a celebration of her life will be held on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 10a.m. Pastor Larry Marvel officiating. Burial to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
