Fincastle, Botetourt Co VA and died prior to Dec 9 1829, dau of Col. John and Mary (Bracken) Tate, when the heirs of Col. John Tate met to dispose of their inheritance. She md Henley Haddox or Haddin. We are indebted to the deeds of Russell Co VA for the name of her spouse as well as the names of her children. They settled in Pulaski Co KY." (Mentzel, 4) Mentzel's book also provides the spouses of some of Jane's children: Urusla married John Hays; Nancy married Cyrus Davidson; Martha married Jenkins Williams, Hannah married John Frazier. - Most researchers believe that Jane was born later, likely in the 1770's. Her reputed birthyear of 1763 would have been several years BEFORE her parents were married.
