    Bio: Grandmother of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. and the mother of Rev Martin Luther King Sr. Mrs. Delia King the daughter of Jim Long(1842?) and Jane Linsey (1855?) was the wife of James Albert "Jim" King (1864) they married August 20, 1895 and had 9 children which they raised in Clayton and Henry counties in Georgia. The Kings settled down in Stockbridge and did sharecropping and other jobs to support their growing family. Mrs. King was a faithful member of Floyd Chapel Baptist Church where she took pride in bringing her children to church. She was a strong woman with strong convictions and a sense of purpose which she instilled in her children. Citizens in Albany and thru-out South Georgia and the nation became aware of the King family and how their children and grandchildren helped changed the world for the better.
