Jane Limmin’s origins have yet to be established. The age given when she died suggests that she was born around 1733. Her first confirmed sighting is on 4th July 1762, when she married James Cannam at Elton in Huntingdonshire. They went on to have a daughter, Ann, baptised at Elton in 1764. They then moved about five miles west to Glapthorn in Northamptonshire, where they had another daughter, Jane, baptised in 1767. James was buried at Glapthorn on 2nd November 1808. His burial record does not say how old he was, but they had been married for 46 years. Jane survived him by thirteen years. She was buried at Glapthorn on 27th November 1821, when she was said to be 88 years old. References
