Jane Krumrine Hood, 82, of Brunswick, GA and Aiken, SC died on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Uni Healthcare in Aiken, South Carolina after a prolonged illness. She was born in Valdosta, GA, the daughter of the late Joseph Hartman Krumrine, Sr. and Ruth Sherman Krumrine and moved to Brunswick at an early age where she graduated from Glynn Academy High School. She began a career in education that spanned four decades. Ms. Hood graduated from the University of Georgia where she received her Bachelors Degree and then from Emory University in Atlanta where she received her Masters Degree in Library Science. She served as a classroom teacher and lastly as Librarian at Augusta Medical College. Upon her retirement she moved to Aiken, SC, where she resided until her death.
She was preceded in death by her older brother, Joseph H. Krumrine, Jr. of Denver, Colorado and her parents Joseph Hartman Krumrine, Sr. and Ruth Sherman Krumrine of Valdosta, GA. Survivors include her brother, Charles A. Krumrine of Rochester Hills, Michigan and nieces and nephews, Annmarie Eldred of Aurora, Colo., Kathy Sipma of Lakewood, Colo., Janie Farner of Oxford, MI, Hart Krumrine of Bennett, Colo., Larry Krumrine of Houston, TX, Gene Krumrine of Lakewood, Colo., Richard Krumrine of Lake Orion, Mich. and extended family and friends..
