Conflicting Parentage of Jane Guthrie

Some sources claim that Jane Guthrie's parents were John and Ann Guthrie, and others claim that she was a daughter of James Guthrie. Additional research needed to resolve:

Martha Guthrie, (was the) daughter of James Guthrie, of Scotch-Irish Presbyterian ancestry, whose family was:
1. Adam Guthrie, who m. Mercy Irwin, of Nantmeal Township, Chester County, Pa., daughter of George and Jane Matlack Irwin.
2. John, died unmarried.
3. Ann, m, Gilkerson, of Chambersburg, Pa.
3. Mary, m. Murphy, of Virginia.
4. Jane, m. Samuel Martin.
5. Martha, b. 1746 ; m. Thomas Love ; she d. Dec. 29, 1825.
6. Abigail, b. 1726 (prob. incorrect, perhaps 1756?) ; d. in 1843 ; m. Alexander Andres Sr., b. 1758; d. 1846.
Marjorie, m. Emmett; moved to Ohio about 1780.

Jane Guthrie, (p. 160) daughter of John Guthrie and Ann married Samuel Martin. They lived in Lancaster County, Pa., not far from the John Guthrie homestead.

Children:

1. James Martin, a physician, who in. Eliza Morrison. They had twelve children.

2. Samuel Martin, Jr., who in. Jane Rankin and had four children. A daughter married a Mr. Coulter; a son married Lydia J. Thompson.

3. Sarah Martin, who in. Win. Mackey. Th~y had five sons and two daughters. Three of these sons were ministers of the Gospel, one of these Rev. James Mackey, was a missionary for ~ixteen years in Africa under the Presbyterian Board of Foreign Missions.
