Classification: Query Surnames: Hi: saw your request and have some info you might like. I have the children of Jane (Janie) Doak and James Dunn listed as: Samuel, Oliver, Davis and Sophia Wingate. James was born re 1754 in Ireland (Co. Down). He married Jane Doak (b.re VA died 1849). She was the daughter of Robert Doak (s of Samuel) and Hannah Breckinridge (said to be sister of Robert Breckinridge). James was also married to Elizabeth Hopkins in 1787 in Rockingham Co., VA (She was the daughter of William Hopkins, sister of John Hopkins). I have other info that says James was born in Orange Co. VA Dec. 10 1759. This comes from the McKee Genealogy. It also says he married Elizabeth Hopkins. So, what I believe is that he married Elizabeth Hopkins and had 4 children. She died and he married a sis of James Doak who married Jane Dunn (his sister). Kind of like looking in the Arkansas history books don't you think? HA HA Anyway. After he married Jane Doak I believe they had children but do not know their names other than a John (who is my direct line) and he married Elizabeth Doak who was the daughter of Jane Dunn and James Doak. So cousins married in this generation. Hope this hasn't totally confused you and that you get some help out of it.
