    State of Tennessee, Sumner County
    This day personally appeared before me James M. Wilson an acting justice of the peace for said County Reuben Prevette [could be Prewett]2 aged about 77 years who after being duly Sworn makes on his oath the following Statement that he was well acquainted with Captain Elijah Moore of the State of North Carolina and that said more during the Revolutionary War with Great Britain was in the service of the United States Army and served in the command of Captain of the regular troops in the North Carolina line and was under the command of Col. Henley & Major Booge during the year 1780 at which time I was a soldier under the command of said Captain Elijah Moore.
    Sworn to and Subscribed before me this
    fifth day of July 1838.
