Information below from RootsWeb, Hartung Genealogy . . . ., database: Source: Tulsa World, 26 Dec 1949, obituary: " Services for James Riley Wilson, 88, of 723 S. Indian av., who died at his home Sunday, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Colcord high school auditorium. Interment will be near Colcord under direction of the Guardian Funeral home. "Mr. Wilson was a pioneer Oklahoma cattleman. He drove cattle along the old Chisholm trail from Texas into Kansas in the 1880s. He settled in Delaware county more than 60 years ago. He had opened the first postoffice at Rowe, in 1903. "Mr. Wilson had resided in Tulsa six years with a daughter, Mrs. Thomas L. Swicegood. He was a member of the Methodist church and the Odd Fellows lodge. "Also surviving are another daughter, Mrs. J. B. Sisson, Kansas, OK.; a son, Ross Wilson, 1803 N. Denver av.; two brothers, John Wilson, Seminole, and Tom Wilson, Jay; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren." Another obituary: "... Mr. Wilson, a native of Carroll county, Arkansas, ... . He settled in Oklahoma in 1881 where he continued his cattle business." References
